All minutes are considered "DRAFT" until they are approved at the next meeting. Minutes of the Meeting COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD July 6, 2005 5:30PM
The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on July 6, 2005 at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room. The following members, alternates or representatives were present: Pat Archibald, Rod Buethe, Kirk Schuster, Jeff Strawn, Len Houloose, Bob Lausten, John Stacey, Steve Betts, and Mark Wayne. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times. Copies of the Proofs of Publication are on file in the Sarpy County Clerk’s Office. All proceedings were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Minutes: Lausten moved, seconded by Buethe, to approve the minutes of the May 4, 2005 meeting.
Administrator's Report: County Administrator Mark Wayne advised Larry Lavelle would begin as the new Director on August 8, 2005. 911 Center Supervisor's Report: 911 Supervisor Gable reported that there are 4 dispatchers in training. One is expected to finish training in September and the other 3 in February. She also advised she had requested one additional dispatcher in this year’s budget. Wayne advised the budget will be submitted on August 1, 2005 and the Board adopts it on September 15, 2005.
President’s Report: President Mayer out of town – no report.
Election of Officers:
President: Houloose nominated Stacey, second by Lausten. Stacey declined nomination and nominated Mayer, second by Lausten. Motion passed. Mayer elected president unanimously.
Vice-President: Houloose nominated Stacey, second by Lausten. Motion passed. Stacey elected vice-president unanimously.
Secretary: Houloose nominated Wayne, second by Lausten. Motion passed. Wayne elected secretary unanimously.
Subcommittee Reports: None outstanding.
Reports and General Updates:
John Prince: No report
Elmer Martin: All radios have been programmed with the exception of 1 or 2 because the exact frequencies have not been determined. Also are still working on switch data.
Steve Betts: Programming for the College World Series worked without problems. Also requested him or Neil Johnson be contacted if anyone is having any issues with fire calls appearing to be dropped.
Lisa Rink: NEMA has unspent 2003 funds and she will be submitting grants for the unknown amount of money. If anyone has any requests submit to her ASAP. The application deadline is July 15, 2005. If no one submits anything, she will be trying for more radios.
Joe Mastandrea: The 2nd draft of LEOP was handed out. Requests agencies look over the information. Also, Offutt is requesting assistance with an Air Show exercise on Saturday, July 23rd at 1000 hrs. If anyone can assist, contact Captain Tate at 232-6621. The Air Show is scheduled for August 27th & 28th.
Larry Lavelle: Advised he Is working with several vendors to obtain Phase II wireless information.
After determining the agenda for the September 7, 2005 meeting, Lausten moved, seconded by Buethe, to adjourn at 5:50 P.M. Motion passed unanimously. |
