Minutes of the Meeting

November 2, 2005

5:30 PM

 

The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on November 2, 2005 at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room.  The following members, alternates, or representatives were present:  Travis Mayer, Mark Wayne, Rod Buethe, Steve Betts, Jeff Strawn, Leonard Houloose, Kevin Pokorny, Pat Artchibald, John Stacey, Rolly Yost, Kirk Schuster, Bob Lausten, and Bob Roseland.

Minutes:  Buethe moved, seconded by Lausten, to approve the minutes of the September 7, 2005 meeting.

Director’s Report:  Larry Lavelle covered the following subjects with discussion following:  Sarpy County LEOP was approved by the county board and final draft copies were distributed for final updates,  UASI grant and tactical plans,  NIMS training, Phase II testing, full time status of Lisa Rink, and 911 data collection.

Subcommittee Reports:  (None)  Travis Mayer advised that according to the By-laws, standing subcommittees should still be in place.  Subcommittees for Law SOG review were put into place:  Rolly Yost and Marilyn Gable.  For Fire SOG review:  Jeff Strawn, Steve Betts, and Marilyn Gable.

Reports and General Updates:    John Prince advised that he and Elmer Martin attended the Motorola Users Group Meeting in California last month.  John advised that he is working with Motorola on updating the GGM software.  He also advised that the current version of LRMS has a Year 2010 end of life time frame.  John advised our CAD product is stable at this time, we are using the latest release of FRMS and will look into issue of FRMS/ENARSIS for fire reporting.  Elmer Martin and Steve Betts, no report.  Neil Johnson advised that he will be taking a look at a Springfield fire paging issue November 3rd, reported a power outage at the Bellevue Tower Site on November 2nd, and also talked about the need for “radio caches” for the analog radios that were put out of service with the latest upgrade to the system.

Reports/Emergency Management:  Joe Mastandrea reported to the group of the recent completion of the LEOP and passed out CD’s of the final draft for final revisions.  He also advised that November 2, 2005 is winter weather awareness day.

After determining the agenda for the January 4, 2006 meeting, Yost moved, seconded by Stacey to adjourn at 6:15 PM.  Motion passed unanimously.
