CALL TAKER #1 The primary responsibility of this console position is to answer all incoming 9-1-1 calls for service and the non-emergency phone calls for the law enforcement agencies within Sarpy County. Our center has 7 incoming 9-1-1 lines – however, if all 7 lines are busy, and you are the 8th person to call 9-1-1, you will not hear a busy signal – your call will rollover to one of our other administrative lines and will be answered. These phone lines service: *Bellevue Police Department which is located at 2207 Washington Street (NE corner of Mission Ave/Washington St) *LaVista Police Department is at 8110 Parkview Blvd (just east of 84th St/ Parkview Blvd) *Papillion Police Department is located at 145 W. 2nd St (just west of Washington St/2nd St) *Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office is in the Law Enforcement Center at 1208 Golden Gate Drive (NE corner of 84th St/Highway 370 in Papillion)The call-taker will ask you questions regarding the nature of your call and then enter this information into our CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) which will then assign a unique case-number for your incident. For some calls, including medical, fire, or life-threatening police incidents, the dispatcher will give you instructions to follow. Listen carefully. If you do not understand, ask them to repeat or clarify their directives. |
