COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on January 2, 2002, at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room. The following members or alternates were present: John Stacey, Travis Mayer, Rod Beuthe, Steve Betts, Mark Wayne, LT Lausten and Len Houloose. Absent: Pat Archibald, Rich Schmitz, Mike Mann, Louie Post, and Pat Thomas. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times. Copies of the Proofs of Publication are on file in the Sarpy County Clerks Office. All proceedings were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Mayer moved, seconded by Betts, to approve the minutes of the November 7, 2001 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Director's Report: Dan Peterson reported on a channel bank power failure the night before the meeting which was repaired in half an hour. Offutt is interested in adding radios to include programming on the Sarpy system. Motorola has announced that it will only accept pager orders until February 15, and will manufacture no pagers after those orders are filled. SID subdivision names will be in CAD tomorrow. IS is seeking a third-party solution to SunPro summary report shortcomings. Neil Johnson will train Omaha Fire personnel using the Millard Fire radios on the Sarpy system. As the Sarpy County system nears the halfway point in its 15-year lifespan, Director Peterson reminded the Board to "identify emerging enhancements and technological changes" and "to determine whether the technology of the 800 MHz system should be changed or updated." An outline of options and estimated costs will be presented within the next three months.

There were no subcommittee reports.
After determining the agenda for the March 6, 2002 meeting, Lausten moved, seconded by Betts to adjourn at 5:44 P.M. Motion passed unanimously.
