COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on March 6, 2002, at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room. The following members or alternates were present: Pat Archibald, Rich Schmitz, John Stacey, Rod Beuthe, Steve Betts, Mark Wayne, Len Houloose, Rolly Yost, Bob Roseland and LT Lausten. Absent: Travis Mayer and Louie Post. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times. Copies of the Proofs of Publication are on file in the Sarpy County Clerks Office. All proceedings were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Beuthe moved, seconded by Houloose, to approve the minutes of the January 2, 2002 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Director's Report: Dan Peterson reported no problems with the 800 MHz system since the last meeting. Adding SID and subdivision names into CAD has proved so successful that former SID names will be added to annexed subdivisions. Fire and rescue summary reports will be available through FRMS. Neil Johnson provided training to Omaha Fire personnel currently using the Millard Fire radios on the Sarpy system in January. As the Sarpy County systems nears the halfway point in its 15-year lifespan, Director Peterson advised the Board of progress in the Statewide and Douglas County communications systems and how they might interact with the Sarpy County system. The Plattsmouth Police Chief has requested permission to investigate accessing the Sarpy County mobile data system, and study whether they might need to add infrastructure to support it. Discussion centered on how this additional infrastructure would benefit Sarpy County users. Schmitz moved, seconded by Houloose, to approve the proposed Plattsmouth PD study. Motion passed unanimously.
The President had no report.
There were no subcommittee reports.
After determining the agenda for the May 1, 2002 meeting, Lausten moved, seconded by Betts to adjourn at 5:44 P.M. Motion passed unanimously.
