COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD

Minutes of the May 2, 2001 Meeting


The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on May 2, 2001, at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room. The following members or alternates were present: Rich Schmidt, Guy Tramp, Rolly Yost, Pat Archibald, Len Houloose,  Steve Betts, Mark Wayne, Evelyn Wicks, Bob Lausten, and Rod Beuthe. Absent: Mike Mann and Louis Post.  Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times. Copies of the Proofs of Publication are on file in the Sarpy County Clerk’s Office. All proceedings were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.

Lausten moved, seconded by Betts, to approve the minutes of the March 3, 2001 meeting.  Motion passed unanimously.

Director's Report: Peterson reported a problem with the bi-directional amplifier at the BPD has been repaired. The MOSCAD Alarm System is assembled and being programmed.  Copies of the proposed Public Safety Signal Amplification Zoning Regulation were distributed and discussed. The Advisory Board expressed support for the proposed regulation. The proposed regulation will be on the Planning Commission May 16 Agenda and on the County Board June 12 Agenda.  Peterson presented the proposed FY2002 Budget.  Schmidt moved, seconded by Lausten, to authorize the Chairman to sign a letter supporting the proposed Communications FY2002 Budget.  Ayes: Schmidt, Tramp, Archibals, Houloose, Betts, Wayne, Lausten and Beuthe.   Abstain: Yost.

Yost reported that a beta addressing the MDC Punch list is expected in a month.

Peterson read a report by John Prince updating the Board on CAD/LRMS-FRMS projects. Bellevue, Gretna and LaVista have accomplished FRMS Training, and Springfield has scheduled their training.  The Jail Management and Mugshot manuals should be installed this month and operational next month. Warrant conversion from CJIS will begin this month.  During the transition, dispatch will need additional time to check both databases.

Betts moved, seconded by Yost, to schedule the next meeting for August 1.

 

After determining the agenda for the August 1, 2001 meeting,   Tramp moved, seconded by Betts to adjourn at 6:05 P.M. Motion passed unanimously.
