COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on November 1, 2000, at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room. The following members or alternates were present: Ray Higgins, Len Houloose, Steve Betts, Tom Koksal, Bill Roche, Mark Wayne and Rod Buethe. Absent: Travis Mayer, Louis Post, Pat Thomas and Guy Tramp. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times. Copies of the Proofs of Publication are on file in the Sarpy County Clerks Office. All proceedings were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Roche moved, seconded by Betts, to approve the minutes of the September 6, 2000 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Director's Report: Peterson reported that Communications Center personnel consist of 26 qualified, 5 in training including 2 to graduate by the end of the month. There were no 800 MHz problems in October. Users should report any noted. The new recorder, which can record 16 more channels than the old recorder, is being installed. Northern Airborne Technologies should complete the Supplemental Type Certificate for the OPD Helicopter by the end of the month. Omaha Fire requested permission to program an additional handheld for Rescue One. Betts moved to approve the request contingent on user training, seconded by Buethe. Motion passed unanimously. Rolly Yost will chair a group to determine the coordinated needs for additional talkgroups among law enforcement agencies. The Springfield paging move will occur after system optimization. The new Printrak Project CAD went live on August 15. The current priorities are updating the geofile through Printrak and developing the capability to do so without Printrak assistance. Buethe requested information on fire summary reports and Peterson will provide information directly to Fire Departments.

After determining the agenda for the January 3, 2001 meeting, Betts moved, seconded by Buethe to adjourn at 5:55 P.M. Motion passed unanimously.
