Minutes of the Meeting

COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD

Sept 3rd, 2003

5:30PM

The Communications Advisory Board Committee was convened in open and public session on Sept 3rd, 2003, at 5:30 PM, in the Sarpy County Board Meeting Room. The following members or alternates were present: Rod Buethe, Pat Archibald, Mark Wayne, Jeff Strawn, John York, and Kirk Schuster. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Bellevue Leader and the Papillion Times.  Copies of the Proofs of Publication are on file in the Sarpy County Clerk’s Office.  All proceedings were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.

A quorum was not present.   Minutes of the July 2nd, 2003 meeting will await vote for approval at the Nov 5th, 2003 meeting.

Director's Report: Peterson reported no problems with 800MHz radio system since last meeting. New license is still awaiting FCC approval. The FY04 Budget is scheduled for county board adoption on September 9th.  Initial projections provided to advisory board members in April should remain close to final amount. Still pending are dispatcher union contract negotiations which may increase pro rata shares slightly. As an update on the radio grant being pursued by Douglas County briefed last meeting, it was determined that it would not be in our interest since it would require us to replace—at our expense—almost 700 analog radios used by our public works, law and fire.  The LRMS upgrade to Infotrak went live on August 15th. Some technical problems arose, but are being worked.  The purchase agreement for our planned radio upgrade to the 3.0 level will be signed by mid-October.  The upgrade work will commence next spring around April.

President Houloose was not present. There were no subcommittee reports.  After determining the agenda for the November 5th, 2003 meeting, the group informally adjourned at 5:55 P.M.
