CASA
Sarpy County CASA Program is affiliated
to the Nebraska CASA Association and the National CASA Association.

Sarpy County CASA Program was created in
1986 by Juvenile Court Judge Bill Staley, who appointed Laurie
Adams as CASA Coordinator. Laurie led the program for ten
years. Georgie Scurfield was appointed as Coordinator in 1996, and was joined by Kay Nikodym as Administrative Assistant in 2004.
Sarpy County CASA Program was the first
CASA Program in the Nebraska, and a founder member of the
Nebraska CASA Association which currently has more than 19
affiliated programs. Nebraska CASA Association is based in
Lincoln and can be contacted at NebraskaCASA.org.
The Sarpy County CASA program has an office in the Juvenile Court Hallway of the Hall of Justice at the Sarpy County Courthouse in Papillion.
In 2005, 65 Sarpy County CASA Volunteers advocated for 102 Sarpy County children.
In 2002, Nebraska CASA Volunteers
advocated for over 1000 Nebraska children!
