There are four shifts for the Sarpy County Communications Center. We have 2 day shifts (work 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and 2 night shifts (work 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). The dispatchers rotate their days off, so they only work, on the average, about 15 days a month. The 12-hour shifts allow them to have every other weekend off to spend time with their families. In April of 2009, the Communications Center implemented the
Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team and Incident Dispatch Team.
