The list below contains offices that are up for election in 2012.
Filing Periods: December 1, 2011 to February 15, 2012 for Incumbents
December 1, 2011 to March 1, 2012 for Non-Incumbents
The filing deadlines for such offices are; February 15, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. for incumbents and March 1, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. for non-incumbents. The filing deadlines for such offices in which there is no primary election are; July 15, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. for incumbents and August 1, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. for non-incumbents. An incumbent is anyone serving in any elective office, even if they are filing for an office other than the one in which they are presently serving.
Candidates for Public Defender or County Commissioner need to provide a completed copy of Form C-1 (available from the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission) for the preceding calendar year at the time of filing. Candidate must file the original C-1 to the NADC within five days of filing for office.
Filings with the Secretary of State: Requires filing fee to be paid at the Secretary of State's Office. State Legislature must also file a Declaration to Abide or Not Abide by Voluntary Expenditure Limits. This is a list of offices to be filled in Sarpy County, Nebraska by elections held on May 15, 2012 or November 6, 2012.
