2000 Annual Report to the State Emergency Response Commission

  4. During this period, 54 facilities filed SARA Title III Tier Two reports with SCEPC. Tier II reports are filed in the Emergency Management Office and are available for public inspection. During this period, ten public and numerous responder information requests were handled. Two non-reporting facilities were identified during this period, notified of the reporting requirements, and reported for the first time.
  5. Revisions to the Sarpy County Emergency Response Plan, which is contained within the Sarpy County Local Emergency Operations Plan (LEOP), and the LEPC Resource Book were updated and distibuted on December 15 1999.  The current revision, scheduled for release in early 2000, will introduce a Terrorism Annex.

  10. Four members participated in the the Omaha/Council Bluffs Sub-area Contingency Plan (O/CB SACP) HAZMAT tabletop in Omaha on May 18, 2000. The O/CB SACP covers hazardous materials releases into or threatening the Missouri River. The Sarpy County LEPC facilitated a hazardous materials exercise on December 2, 2000. The exercise built on the lessons learned in previous hazardous materials exercises and while revising the LEOP. Another county exercise is planned for next year. Sarpy County will also participate in a multi-county functional exercise of the O/CB SACP next year.
