In the Event of a Chemical Release Effecting Sarpy County

Contact the Sarpy County Communications Center by dialing:

• 911 by telephone in Sarpy County, or
• 593-4111 by cellular phone or outside of Sarpy County.

Provide as much of the following information as you safely can:

• the location of the chemical release
• the name of the chemical being released
• whether the released chemical is a solid, liquid, gas, or combination of phases
• the time the release began, and if it is ongoing
• whether or not there are known injuries or fatalities

Proceed and stay upwind, uphill and upstream from a release.   Do not get closer!

General Information

For general information about the LEPC, chemical reporting or emergency planning contact the Sarpy County Emergency Management Agency (402) 593-5785. Hazardous chemical inventories and the emergency plan are generally available for public inspection between 8 AM and 4:45 PM during nonholiday weekdays, but interested parties are encouraged to call ahead and insure that other planning, training or response activities have not precluded availability. Or make an appointment and view them at your convenience!
