Sarpy County SID Debris Removal Announcement
Papillion, NE
The Sarpy County Highway Department will begin curbside tree limb removal in the unincorporated areas of the County on November 8, 1997. The limbs must be cut in lengths no longer than eight (8) feet. It is anticipated that this process will take a few months to complete. We ask that residents be patient and that citizens in unincorporated areas that are capable of hauling tree limbs to designated drop off sites are encouraged by the Sarpy County Board to do so.
S.I.D.'s are encouraged by the Sarpy County Board to coordinate their efforts within their respective S.I.D. with efforts such as general safety for children around equipment and brush piles, traffic control during operations and manpower on days we are in your S.I.D. Drop sites are located at 156th and Highway 370, the Sarpy County Landfill (156th and Fairview), and the old landfill off of Cedar Island Road.
County officials said that fees would be waived for Sarpy County private citizens bringing tree debris to the land fill, however, regular fees will be charged to commercial haulers.
County and city officials declared that this is a time for volunteerism and cooperative community effort. Citizens are reminded to call 9-1-1 only in cases of emergency. City administrative offices or S.I.D. Board members should be contacted with questions concerning debris removal.
