Health Director

The primary focus of the Sarpy/Cass Department of Health & Wellness is to improve the lives of our citizens by promoting the health of our community through:

• preventing disease
• developing partnerships
• establishing policies
• providing health education
• improving the delivery of healthcare services
  

The Health Director is responsible for the day-to-day management, policy oversight, operational effectiveness, and financial performance of the Sarpy/Cass Department of Health and Wellness. The Director provides leadership in proposing and administering a comprehensive integrated public health program which effectively identifies and addresses the needs of a diverse population. Develops collaborative working relationships with multiple public and private agencies to initiate and participate in community projects focusing on public health prevention and surveillance. Implements the strategic health plan and vision for the department as outlined by the Sarpy/Cass Board of Health and Wellness.

Responsibilities include:

• Direct all daily operations including:
• Business development, program development and healthcare services.
• Support the Counties efforts around network development and service expansion
• Efficient operational infrastructure to support healthcare goals
• Strategic planning and implementation
• Financial management including grants, budgeting financial forecasting and active plan development.
• Serves as key liaison between Health Department, Counties and Cities.
• Recruit, select and retain highly qualified professionals; provide the leadership necessary to maintain a motivated, productive and competent management team through open communication and delegation of responsibilities and authority; guide and direct subordinate executives in their personal and professional development.
