The Department is actively involved in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. D.A.R.E. is an important component in the war on drugs. Highly trained deputies teach elementary school aged kids how to say no to drugs and choose healthy alternatives. D.A.R.E. brings hope to children and theri concerned parents.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Department is also equally acttve in the Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) programs. This program is taught at the junior high school level by deputy sheriffs. The G.R.E.A.T. program gives junior high level students the information and the social skills needed to help them combat the ever increasing gang presence in Sarpy County.
