Sarpy County Election, Jury commissions moving to new location starting Feb. 9

Date:
February 08, 2021

The Sarpy County Election Commission and Jury Commission are moving to a new location. Starting Feb. 9, the offices will be in Sarpy County’s new 1102 Building at 1102 E. 1st Street in Papillion.

“We’re excited about this move because it’s going to make our office much more accessible, with ample parking and a seating area right outside our customer service counter,” Sarpy County Election and Jury Commissioner Michelle Y. Andahl said. “We look forward to serving the public at the new facility.”

Sarpy County purchased the 1102 Building, which is located southwest of 72nd Street and Cornhusker Road, from Black Hills Energy in 2020.

Remodeling work inside the 1102 Building is ongoing, so the public will need to use the building’s west entrance to visit the Election and Jury offices.

Over the next few months, additional county offices will move into the building as part of a larger reorganization of the Courthouse Campus to accommodate construction of the new Sarpy County Correctional Center. Construction of the correctional center is scheduled to begin in the spring.

“Having the additional space at the 1102 Building will allow us to address a number of immediate issues we’ll face during the construction of the new correctional center, and ultimately will help us better serve our citizens,” said Don Kelly, Chairman of the Sarpy County Board of Commissioners.
